Wealth Redistribution-a phrase we have not heard for a while-until now
The phrase redistribution of wealth is really not a new concept. It was used extensively during the campaigns of Vladimir Lenin of Russia and Adolf Hitler in Germany. Oh, but as many say, that was then and those people have nothing to do with us. After all, It Cant' Happen Here. Gee, wasn't that the title of a satire written by Sinclair Lewis in 1935 when he described a proud and patriotic nation who gradually relinquished their liberties in the name of patriotism and national security, only to have it backfire after a new President was elected and a new administration came to power and Americans found themselves living a life was never dreamed possible in the U.S.A.? Hmm, as Glenn Beck would put it, I am not a rocket scientist but let's connect the dots. What are the commonalities? An extreme disapproval for the exiting regime, a gradual loss of our liberties all in the name of national security and patriotism, a belief that it was for the common good, years of becoming accustomed to entitlement programs, oh and of course, a sense of embarrassment and even shame because there are those who can't stand us, our nation or what we stand for.
Well anyway, let me shy from being too prolific and
just give you something to thunk think about.
